Creation Entertainment's 11th Annual LAS VEGAS Official STAR TREK Convention comes to the Rio Suites Hotel on August 9-12, 2012 and we have four days and nights filled with unparalleled entertainment. What separates this convention from all others? Well, it's VEGAS and that would be enough, but what we love most is that our schedule is chock full of theatrical performances by many of our sensational guests. While we're up for the regular Q and A sessions we really enjoy seeing the Star Trek stars performing live on stage! There's nothing like it and we are delivering the goods in 2012!
Today we are thrilled to welcome a new world premiere theatrical presentation to our Vegas stages starring Rene Auberjonois (Odo) and Ethan Phillips (Neelix). These former co-stars of the huge comedy TV series Benson have created a live play we know is going to be wonderful. Here's the description:
Kafka meets Escher meets Lenny Bruce when Ethan Phillips meets Neelix, meets Pete meets Clayton meets Odo meets Rene Auberjonois.
Try to imagine Clayton talking to Pete about STAR TREK... or Odo and Neelix discussing archival episodes of BENSON... or Rene and Ethan reminiscing about both shows and the characters they played. All wrapped up in rapid fire, often scatological, gags - It all happens LIVE ON STAGE Thursday.
Here are six more super-cool theatrical presentations that are part of the convention:
• AVERY BROOKS IN CONCERT: We are VERY excited about being on hand to witness the super-talented Mr. Brooks playing piano and singing in concert for the very first time at a convention.
• SHAKESPEARE with Armin Shimerman, Jeffrey Combs, and Casey Biggs (the emphasis on humorous)
• GARRETT WANG, DOMINIC KEATING and CONNOR TRINNEER join forces to do a live theatrical show to be determined: even we don't know what they are doing yet but it should be great knowing these guys!
• STAR TREK: TNG, THE SPOOF starring ROBIN CURTIS (Saavik) & ERIC MENYUK (The Traveler)
• TIM RUSS AND BAND LIVE! Tim is a fantastic singer/performer and we're happy to welcome him back headlining our Saturday Night Dessert Party for our Gold and Captain's Chair Patrons!
• JG HERTZLER and ROBERT O'REILLY in their now classic Blues Brothers-like Revue will be featured at our two VooDoo Lounge Dinner Parties for Gold and Captain's Chair Patrons. Also starring CHASE MASTERSON!
